From the late 1940’s-1970’s, romance comics ruled the newsstands - then disappeared with hardly a trace. Why were they so dominant and what led to their demise? What difficult topics did they cover well - and which did they botch?

Issues on Issues: Marvel Retrospective

The Ladies of Comicazi invite you to an evening of comics and conversation. From the beginning, comics have pushed the envelope of storytelling and brought to light many social issues long before it was popular to do so. This year, we’ll focus on the ladies who bear the mantle of Marvel - from Ms. to Captain, exploring the trials and tribulations of Carol, Monica, and Kamala. There will be a gallery showing of key issues and a panel discussion with the Ladies.

This event is free, though donations to support LadiesCon are encouraged.
