LadiesCon 2019 Wrap-Up

To Everyone who joined us - Guests, Vendors, sponsors and attendees.png

It’s hard to believe that another LadiesCon is on the books and we’re pleased to report that after 4 years we are still going strong. Sure, we’re exhausted and maybe still trying to get our bearings…but we’re also gearing up to start planning for LadiesCon 2020 soon!

But, before we jump to next year, we wanted to share some of the highlights from this year’s event!

Attendance

We’re thrilled to share that our attendance remained strong this year as we welcomed a lot of old friends and new ones. We had cosplayers, gamers, comic book fans, first-time con attendees, and families all enjoying our panels and vendor tables. We continue to be overwhelmed by the response the community has had to our event and we hope to see everyone who attended this year come back next. And to those of you who couldn’t make it this year, we’ll be keeping an eye out for you in 2020!

Special Guests

In 2019, we welcomed our first media guest - Gigi Edgley, Chiana of Farscape and host of the Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge. Also new this year were Mad Rupert and Tana Ford. And as always, we were honored to have returning guests Ming Doyle, Mildred Louis, and Joe Quinones. Oh, and did we mention we had a Jurassic Park Jeep?!

Vendors

LadiesCon continues to the place to get your hands on a bunch of unique goodies - ranging from original art and zines to pins and fan-inspired nail polish. Still wishing you got your hands on something you missed? You can visit our vendor list here.

Panels

This year was an amazing year for panels. Not only did we have a great variety of panels that covered topics like Women in Science Fiction, Con Survival Tips, and How a Toy Gets Made, but we were able to branch out into a slightly larger space to help accommodate more attendees. That still didn’t stop some of our panels from being standing room only!

VIP Breakfast and After Party

Our special add-on events had a bigger response than ever this year. At our nearly sold-out breakfast session, those who joined us not only got a bag of goodies and breakfast but also got to attend to exclusive interviews with Ming Doyle and Gigi Edgely.

Our After Party featured live music from Tom Makjut as well as a hilarious Trivia Showdown hosted by Tana Ford. We had some truly beautiful prizes up for grabs including original art by Tana herself!

We hope to make these events even bigger and better in the future, so be sure to keep your eyes out for when they’re announced.
